Lily’s Stomach Supply

Lily'sI went to Lily’s Stomach Supply for lunch with a friend today. Lily’s is definately one of my favourite restaurants in Basel (they also have a branch in Zürich).Sitting just beside Claraplatz in Kleinbasel it is really easy to find. If you like Pan-Asian food, a relaxed atmosphere and great service then Lily’s is definitely the place for you.

If I’m having lunch there I try and ensure that I arrive before noon otherwise there is little chance of getting a table immediately and you’ll almost definitely need to wait. The restaurant is always packed at both lunchtime and in the evening. Continue Reading »

Chilli Con Carne

I was reading through Amy’s Chipotle chilli recipe and I thought I would post my ever evolving recipe, I think maybe the next time I make it I will try including some of my chipotle chiles en adobo which I have blitzed up in the freezer, I just love the smokey aromatic flavour.

Thai style Chicken, Prawn and Glass Noodle Soup

I had lots of bits and pieces in the fridge this afternoon which needed to be used up or go in the bin so I came up with this warming soup. The most time consuming part of this was the preparation of all the meat and veg but one that was done the cooking time only took about 10 minutes (enough time for the noodles to be cooked through and the chicken to be done).

Thanks to Lindy over at Toast for hosting the Something Out of Nothing event to which I submitted this recipe.

Breakfast Treat

Whilst shopping in St.Louis yesterday I remembered that they sold English muffins and decided that that would be my little treat for the weekend. On waking this morning and seeing that it was a miserable, wet and windy day outside I decided that my treat couldn’t wait for the weekend and so I made myself something tasty Continue Reading »

Chicken and Mushroom Burritos with a Creamy Chile Sauce

When compiling my top ten cookbook list I was going through Eat and Two Veg and as I said in my last post I came across this recipe and realized I could put my chipotles to good use at long last.

I should have taken a photograph before I started cooking since I managed to get the pages covered in oil splashes, oops..
