A Gardening We Will Go…

I know, I know, today is the opening match of the World Cup in Berlin and yes, I do want to watch it but I have my first set of visitors arriving in less than 2 weeks and my balcony is still in a bit of a mess.

Yesterday afternoon I went home and dug out all of the old plants from last year and so today I have decided to go to the garden center and fill up on plants. I’m running out of time for tomatoes but the weather has been too cold to put them in up until now.
I haven’t quite decided which herbs I’m planning on growing, I have a few in mind but I think I’ll wait and see what looks good at the garden centre before making my mind up for certain.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get to the garden centre, get home and get the plants potted just in time for kick-off at 6pm.

Check back here later for pictures…

  1. ooooh, can’t wait to see the pictures!
    i wish i had a garden
did you make it back in time for the opening of the match? it’s been a good one!

  2. Looking forward to your pics. Have fun setting up your garden. I’d like to have a little window garden (that’s all the space I have) but I’m going to need some help putting it together. One of these days….

  3. I grow mostly herbs (and a couple of tomato plants) on my little porch too. We have had a few early hot nights, and there are already some little tomatoes on one!
As far as coriander/cilantro is concerned-it doesn’t seem to do well in containers. The roots are pretty deep, maybe that’s the problem-I never had any problem growing it in the ground back when I had a real garden.

  4. I’ve bought a really deep pot, I’ll maybe try putting it in that (if I ever manage to find a corriander plant that is)
