My Uncle arrives from Scotland tomorrow and we’re off to the Black Forest for a few days so things will be on the quiet side here.
Promise I’ll take lots of snaps and will post some here on my return.
I was planning on cooking tonight but since I got in from work I have been running around crazy making beds, washing floors and generally preparing for my uncle’s arrival so now I’m feeling absolutely knackered and it’s really humid so the notion to cook has completely left me.

Why does one always have the urge to clean before guest arrive? tom always says it makes more sense to do this when the have left, as they leave behind them all the mess
But I am like you too Pam. I need to clean before, after and sometimes in between!!

It was really silly leaving the prep work to the last minute but the humidity here has meant that my motivation to actually do anything after spending the day in a hot, humid and sticky office was severely lacking

Hope you have agood time in the black forest. I’ve been there about two weeks ago. Some nice food to be found, too (such as in Baiersbronn…).
Meeta: You clean up because you don’t want to be considered a rude host or a lousy housewife, I suppose. At least that’s my reason. And if the guests are family they’ll be counting the dust mites…

Thanks Jayred!! We had a great weekend but unfortuately my uncle took ill on Saturday, nothing too serious but it’s rather horrible taking ill when you are on holiday.
