Gin & Tonic With A Twist

Commiserations to England who are out of the World Cup after loosing to Portugal in another nail biting penalty shoot out they were unlucky.
Here is what I was sipping during the match.

Lots of crushed ice and a twist of lime makes this truly a refreshing drink.

I used Bombay Sapphire rather than Gordon’s Gin here as it has a smoother flavour and I prefer lime slices to lemon.

Gin and Tonic

GIN & TONIC

  • 1 1/2 measures of Bombay Sapphire Gin
  • 3 measures Indian Tonic Water
  • Lime Slices

Another slight twist on a traditional gin & tonic is this little number known as The Bigs Special. I used Hendricks gin for this since it has a mild fresh flavour.

The Bigs Special

THE BIG SPECIAL

  • 2 Measures Hendricks Gin
  • 2 Measures Indian Tonic Water
  • Dash of Fresh Orange
  • Lime slices to garnish
  • Crushed ice

These recipes and more can be found over at Extratasty.

  1. The German’s were a bit more lucky ;-) To celebrate, I tried your Gin Tonic w/ the Bombay Sapphire ( had to go out to buy one ). You’re right, it’s way better than Gordons.
    Thanks !

  2. If you can get it try Plymouth Gin for the nicest G&T, it is vastly better than Gordons/Tanqeray/Bombay. And avoid Gordon’s Distillers Cut, nice bottle, nasty Gin.
