Meeta at What’s For Lunch Honey? has organized another great event Blogger Postcards from the World!!
What a great idea! By taking part we’re helping the world to feel a little bit smaller and more connected.
On Saturday I got an email from Meeta letting me know who was to receive my postcard.
My postcard is now in the mail and winging it towards it’s recipient.
I personalized my entry by taking my own photo and making it into a postcard.
My photograph shows the heart of Basel – the Rhine and the Münster.
Last night this whole area was heaving with people all in the city to celebrate National Day.
Although National Day is actually today, traditionally in Basel the party takes place on the evening of the 31st July. The celebrations were centered around the river and the highlight of the night was a huge fireworks display!

I think it’s really pretty…and that red town hall is great…and it’s got a good vibe about it I think…Lucky you indeed
Fantastic to take your own photo and turn it into a postcard!
And it’s a beautiful picture also.

hey Pamela,
Thats a really pretty pic. Basel is on my dream destination list. And if one of the premier institutions had not closed down ( or were those rumors) I’d have been thinking of applying for a job there next.
Thanks, also for stopping by my place and leaving your comment.
Take care,
Bilbo
Catesa, Ivonne, Paz, Joey, Tanna, Barbara, Kim, Bilbo – Thanks for stopping by!
Bilbo – Which of the premier institutions are you referring to?
I was referring to the Basel Institute for Immunology. I think it got restructured into something else.
That was creative of you to make your own ‘postcard.’
Belated Happy Swiss National Day!
Hi Pam, lovely postcard!
Bilbo – I wasn’t sure if you were talking about one of the chemical/pharma companies.
Jayred, Gilly, many thanks for your kind comments

Thank you Kat and Sally.
Through Meeta and this event I have come in contact with lots of new people with wonderful blogs!! Can’t thank her enough!!
Simply stunning photo! I have a question about those trees on the waterline though…are they actually growing in the water? Or is it just during daylight hours with the tide having come in?
Thanks Ellie – The trees are growing along the banks of the river with some branches hanging down over the river.
Fantastic. Very exclusive & unique.
