So My Weekend Didn’t Exactly Go As Planned

UPDATE: Meant to say since my battery charger for my camera was in said missing suitcase the number of photographs I can take will be limited for the moment until I get a replacement.

I’ll keep it brief since I’m still quite upset / angry / bemused / baffled / annoyed / irked / inconvenienced. I could go on but I think you get the idea.. let’s just say the weekend didn’t go as planned thanks to Easyjet & London Stansted airport.

It would seem that on Thursday whilst on route to Glasgow my luggage either

  • located a portal into another dimension and slipped/fell/was pushed/jumped/was thrown into said portal

OR

  • has run away to join the circus

I have come up with these options since no one is able to tell me if my case actually left London or if it did which flight it left on or give me any information at all..

I now have the unenviable task of trying to replace all the items which were in my case and dealing with my insurance claim.

Normal Service should be resumed shortly…

  1. Pamela,

So sorry to hear about the luggage. I’m moving tomorrow and have everything crossed that all my “stuff” will arrive safely. I hope it works out for you.

  2. Oh Pam! I am so sorry to hear about this. But look on the brighter side. You can spend an afternoon shopping for a whole load of new and wonderful stuff.
I do hope that you feel better and that you your bag realizes the circus is not so much fun and comes home to you :-)

    Cheer up Sweetie!

  3. Barry – hope everything goes well with the move, I’m sure it’ll all run smoothly. Our move coming here went like clockwork fingers crossed yours goes the same.

Meeta – thanks for your kind words, I’ve just been having a rough time over the past couple of weeks. I’m sure that now things are on the up.

    Cheers Paz!

  5. Our son ( 15 ) went to germanu on 8/9 with a stop at Heathrow, just the day, the shut down the airport. He spent 15 hours there :-(

Guess, you were still lucky ;-) Though, it’s annoying as hell anyway :-(

  6. Oh no, 15 hours in Heathrow!!

This is about the 8th or 9th time that my bags have been “mislocated” passing through a London airport.

In the past it has always been Heathrow but the difference was that if they got stuck there I have always gotten them back delivered safely within 12 hours and I always was able to find our if they were still in Basel or at Heathrow. The difference this time is that no one seems to know (or care) where exactly my case has ended up.

Until now I have been a really vocal supporter of flying with Easyjet but this whole experience has given me a very definate new view on flying with them in the future..

They even managed to checked me on to the wrong flight on the way home last night and I was almost unable to catch the Basel flight LOL! Almost the final straw ;)

  7. Yeesh – what an absolute headache! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that your suitcase appears back as miraculously as it disappeared, and hopefully your next holiday will go much better than this one. Perhaps you need a holiday from your holiday? ;)

  8. Oh, no! Sorry to hear about this. How upsetting for you… I hope you get compensated at least for the troubles.

  9. Thanks everyone for all your kind words and emails, one of the wonderful things about blogging is the network of amazing people you come into contact with!!

I thank you all once again!!

    Live and learn
    :)

  10. That’s terrible news. They didn’t give you any explanation as to where it might have gone? It must be sitting somewhere in one of their lost luggage holds or something :(

  11. No explination, no information..
    :(
They can’t even tell me whether the bag even left London.
I need to go to the UK on business in 4 weeks, then I’m flying up to Glasgow for the weekend, I’m really worried about my luggage this time… Although I am flying with BA this time and not Easyjet.
