I really love making burgers and I’m always up for trying new recipes. A couple of weeks ago when we were back in Glasgow I picked up a couple of new gadgets from Lakeland. Lakeland is the most amazing homewares company and the great news is that they deliver overseas!!!
My new gadgets were a burger maker and a quarterpounder press. Here is how I put the my burgerpress to good use… It’s similar to a previous recipe but still a work in progress in my never ending journey to find the perfect burger recipe.

I haven’t had a burger in a long time, but this makes me want one!
Oh, juicy! Looks a real deal to me already…
I like the addition of chilli powder too. Drool.
Remind me to stop reading your blog in the morning, I get so hungry that I find it hard to make it to lunch! And burgers really are my thing. Damn, I’ll never learn!
Hi Pam,
Looks great. One thing I love about you, you always know how to make a good looking burger. They make me drool.
Yummy!
Thanks Barry, thanks Meeta!!
Great news, my best friend bought me the new Jamie Oliver book for my birthday yesterday. Stay tuned for some snapshots!!
I have never had a burger with cumin in it…sounds yummy! I should try that next time I make burgers
Thanks for the idea
I love burgers so much in fact its a wonder i havent had a heart attack. I have been looking for a burger maker and a quarter pounder press when i do get them i will be trying your recipe.
Mmmm, I know what’s on the menu tomorrow. A small mid-American touch you can try, for variation: I replace the chili with a dash of tabasco and about 4 drops of worcestershire, and I always use 1-2 tablespoons of oatmeal flakes and an egg, for 500g. The key to getting them right is to make sure the first side is cooked firm over relatively high heat before flipping.
what a scrumptious burger, looks gorgeous!
Have fun with the Jamie cookbook
Thanks folks for the wonderful feedback and great modifications to the recipe!
Great Great Great – What can I say, your recipe is and was fantastic. The only thing I did not have was onion powder but I replaced the onion powder will real very finely chopped fried onion and it tasted great.
Thanks!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the recipe!! Thanks for stopping by!
