Soup of the Day!!

Finally gotten off my backside and back into the kitchen!!

Today Stewart and I went into the city and visited the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market). I just love this time of year, Basel is so beautiful!! We enjoyed some absolutely excellent rösti at a little bistro at the market mine with cheese, ham and onion and Stewart enjoyed his with Bratwurst and onion gravy! When we got home I got on with the task of finishing off making a pot of soup which I began cooking last night based on my grandmothers recipe.

Check back later for the simple but yummy recipe and some pictures!

UPDATE: Technical issues are hampering my posts. I’m currently waiting for my new laptop to arrive as my old one died a few weeks ago, it’s due for the end of the week so until then dear readers please accept my apologies. I will upload my recipe and pictures soon.

Tall and Creamy Cheesecake From Dorie Greenspan

From My Home To Yours

I was delighted when Sara over at I Like to Cook asked me if I would like to take part in a great blogging event and get my hands on a a fabulous new glossy copy of Dorie Greenspan’s new book “From My Home To Yours”, I jumped at the chance.

I am a complete novice baker, I’ve never really spent any time baking and since Stewart doesn’t have a sweet tooth there has never really been any point but I REALLY LOVE cheesecake and decided this was the perfect recipe to try.

Steak Braised In Red Wine

The dark nights have signalled the beginning of Autumn in earnest and as if by magic this also seems to have heralded a complete change in the weather. The temperatures have dropped and for me this means one thing… Stews and casseroles.

This dish is a perfect wintery warmer!
