Now That’s What I Call A Sandwich- My Ultimate Steak Sandwich

I love the bread in France and the bakery in the local supermarket in St.Louis bakes the most wonderful baguettes which they call flutes, they make the most amazing sandwiches!

I haven’t eaten red meat in a couple of weeks and when I saw the entrecotes in the butchers I knew immediately what I wanted for dinner tonight, the Ultimate Steak Sandwich.  So here it is..

UPDATED AUGUST 10 : Click here for the round up of WCC#7, in which this recipe featured.

It’s that time again – Monthly Mingle #3!! This month Meeta has chosen “Beat The Heat” as the theme.

I spent quite some time scratching my head over this one and then I thought to what is the best way of beating the heat in the kitchen in the summer?? A Barbeque!! With that in mind I turned to my copy of The Great Big Burger Book by Jane Murphy and Liz Yeh Singh in search of a fingerlickin burger recipe and I think I have found one!!

This month’s theme for the Weekend Cookbook Challenge #6 (WCC) is Lucky 7′s and since this great recipe had 7 ingredients I thought it would be perfect to submit!

A Korean Twist to a Turkey Burger

Big thanks to Barbara over at Tigers & Strawberries for this amazing recipe. I was reading through her site the other morning and my mouth was watering uncontrollably (it was only 7am!!),  I knew that I really wanted to give this recipe a try. I have put a slight twist on the original recipe with my burger toppings.

This is a great recipe to cook today since once the meat is marinading I have plenty of time to watch England play Paraguay.

Sesame Prawns

I finished work early today and spent this afternoon running about crazy. I ended up knackered and wasn’t really in the mood for cooking something from scratch and so I decided to make the sesame prawns which I bought from Co-Op yesterday. I served them with lemon, aioli and some tomato, chilli and red pepper salsa. They were really juicy!
