Breakfast Tortilla – Vegetarian Week Day 7

Well I’ve made it, my final day of vegetarian week and I must admit I’ve really enjoyed it!! I may make this a regular occurance.

I was in the mood for eggs for breakfast, there was some veg leftover in the fridge which needed used up or would have to go so I thought I would combine them to make a tortilla for breakfast.

Aloo Masala / Potato Curry – Day 4

UPDATE AUGUST 14 : This dish was submitted for Tony’s 29th Curry Mela over at Anthony’s Kitchen.

So it’s day 4 of vegetarian week, so far I haven’t found this week difficult. I’m feeling pretty good and I’m still loosing weight.

I enjoyed my curry so much that I thought I would have a variation on it tonight only this time with new potatoes and a couple of other slight changes.

Rajma Masala / Kidney Bean Curry

On my quest to keep this week meat free I have been looking to add flavour through the inclusion of herbs and spices.

Whist reading one of my favourite blogs – Kitchen Wonders by Sumitha Shibu who is also based here in Switzerland I came across a really delicious sounding recipe for Kidney Bean Masala.

I have adapted Sumitha’s recipe slightly to suit my own taste.

Vegetable Stir Fry with Egg Noodles

I seem to be loosing weight at last!! All the cycling seems to be paying off! Today for lunch I had a hankering for noodles. We’re both off work today so I thought I would make a stir fry.

I have taken inspiration from Sara over at I Like to Cook who has decided to have a whole week of abstaining from meat so in honour of Sara I have made my stir fry vegetarian.

Dal

dal

I love eating Indian food but am quite inexperienced at cooking it.

A couple of year ago I bought The New Covent Garden Soup Company’s Soup & Beyond – Soup, Beans and other things and when flicking through it I found a recipe for Dal and thought I’d give it a try.

I really love all types of beans and pulses and if I didn’t enjoy eating meat so much I think I could survive quite happily as a vegetarian.

I don’t know why I don’t make this more often, it’s quick and easy to make and is real comfort food! This is my slightly adapted version.

Raclette – Traditionally Swiss, yummy… Monthly Mingle #1

I thought I would have a little treat and make myself some raclette. Monthly Mingle #1 is being hosted by Meeta over at What’s For Lunch Honey? and I wanted to make a dish worthy of submitting. Thanks for hosting this event Meeta, what a great idea!

This time the theme Football’s Coming Home, in reference to the upcoming World Cup.

Since the country of my birth (Scotland), is no longer present in the competition I wanted to make a dish in honour of my adopted country Switzerland.
